As much as I adore the long weekend of daytime racing here in November, I love the racing under the lights in April just as well. Maybe because everything looks amplified under the lights, maybe because the atmosphere is different at night, or maybe it's just because the race is on Saturday night rather than Sunday so we get an extra day to party at the track and not have to pack up and go back to work. Either way, I can't wait for April 16-18th. We have some fun stuff going on at the track this race. There are many activities going on this race weekend to support a local charity. We have been invited to participate, therefore for this weekend only, instead of donating a portion of our proceeds to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, we will be partnering with these other organizations to donate to the West Valley Child Crisis Center. The planets are aligned, the grass is green, the skies are clear and it's all because NASCAR is back in full swing. It has been months since I have spent the whole day on the couch glued to the electronic babysitter. I think it was sometime during last November.....<br /><br />Anyone who knows me knows not to bother calling my house on a Sunday (or the occasional Saturday night) during race season unless your goal for the day is to talk to my answering machine. Sunday was better than Christmas! I slept in until 9am, then took a quick trip to the couch with a pillow and a blanket (while still in my pajamas) to settle in for a full day of race activities. First there was Raceday, then the pre-race, then the race, then Victory Lane. After that long day, I was looking forward to a good night's sleep.
